Highlands Presbyterian Camp & Retreat is located in the shadow of Mt. Meeker, which is the lesser peak right next to Long’s Peak, which is over 14,000’ in elevation. It is approximately 20 miles south of Estes Park where we had a Feast site in ’99 & 2000. Even though the facilities are owned by the Presbyterians, many different types of groups utilize the facilities. When we were touring the facility a quilting club was there.

The lodge is well-kept and fairly new. Cabins are in very good condition as well. The personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. The scenery is beautiful! There are hiking trails on the premises and in nearby Rocky Mountain National Park.

There is the main lodge, where our activities and sleeping will take place. There are also cabins a few hundred yards away. We have one of these on hold in the event of a larger turn-out than expected.

Dress for the retreat will be casual except for services on the Sabbath which will be dressy casual.

  • Check in time for the rooms is 4 pm on Friday. We will need to have the rooms cleared out by 10:00 am Sunday for housekeeping. However, we will have the meeting facility thru 2:00 pm that afternoon.
  • No alcohol is allowed anywhere on the premises.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the sleeping areas. We will be providing snacks during the day between meals and in the evenings.
  • No candles are allowed in the rooms
  • In order to minimize our costs:
    • We are expected to clean tables after meals—take dishes to dish room and wipe tables.
    • Clean up at the end of the retreat: On your last day, you will need to strip the beds, put all soiled linens and towels in pillow cases and place them outside the bedroom door.
  • There is no cell phone reception at the retreat. There is local service to Estes Park, Longmont, Boulder, and Denver as well as a statewide long distance phone line at the courtesy telephone located in the lobby. Also, wireless internet is available in the dining areas.
  • There is a music keyboard as well as pianos in several locations for guest usage.

Our goal for the week-end is an uplifting, positive experience for all those attending. A time to learn how to grow closer to God as women, and to experience God’s creation in a beautiful setting.
